Splinterlands Celebrates Bitcoin Halving with Limited Edition Cards
As the Bitcoin halving event approaches, Splinterlands has introduced two exclusive promotional cards. These cards are only obtainable for a brief period and feature the unique Halving ability, a rare attribute previously found on just two other cards in the entire Splinterlands series!
Another Bitcoin halving brings with it another pair of promotional cards from Splinterlands, this time featuring Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer. These unique, limited-edition cards are exclusively available during the event and will not be included in any card packs.
The Baron’s Bounty promotion kicked off on April 16th and will be available for a limited period of 15 days. Shoppers have the option to pay using Credits or Dark Energy Crystals, with the latter being the more economical choice at present. Prices are set at 31,250 per BCX for the Baron and 3,250 per BCX for the Enforcer, which correspond to $32.50 and $3.25 in USD, respectively. Buyers have the opportunity to cut these costs by as much as 50% if they use Vouchers. Each card bought carries a 4% probability of being a special gold foil version. Moreover, purchasing a bundle of 25 cards ensures receiving at least one gold foil card.
Furthermore, buying promo cards also earns points for a raffle with prizes such as out-of-print card packs, parcels of land, and Runi NFTs, totaling over $100,000 in rewards! Additionally, the top 200 buyers will be granted exclusive titles, and the top 20 will receive extra copies of the newly released promo cards.

For those intrigued by the cards but not the raffle, these promotional cards can be found on peer-to-peer marketplaces at considerably lower prices.
Despite Splinterland's recent overhaul of their league and battle reward structure, they continue to lose players. However, even with some complaints from the players, with the sale just a few days in, over 2500 Barons have already been bought.
Although this event might not draw in new participants, it's impressive to witness recognitions of important milestones in the web3 arena.
What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital trading card game accessible via web browsers and operates on the Hive blockchain, incorporating elements where players can play and earn. The game utilizes two types of blockchain tokens: Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), which serve as the main in-game currency, and Splintershards (SPS), a governance token that also has the capability to be exchanged for DEC.
Splinterlands merges elements of a card deck-building game with those of an automatic battle game. Participants select their cards to form a battle arrangement that adheres to the specific match guidelines. After both players have set their lineups, the game automatically executes the battle, continuing until a single team is left standing. Victorious players accumulate Glint, a currency exclusive to the game, both through match wins and at the conclusion of each bi-weekly season. Glint can be utilized to acquire new cards and various items within the game. Additionally, the top 50 players each season are awarded DEC tokens as a bonus.
Splinterlands features a land ownership element where players can cultivate their land to harvest Grain, Research Points, and SPS tokens. Looking ahead, the game will evolve to enable players to produce unique items within the game.
