Lately, it seems like almost every update in the web3 gaming sector is about the introduction of a new token. True to trend, MetalCore is moving into the second phase of their closed beta, providing token incentives for both players and active community members.
The current stage of the beta, known as Mech Up, commenced on April 9th, 2024, and is scheduled to continue until May 14th. There will be a break from April 23rd to April 30th to implement a highly confidential update.

Moreover, those who own MetalCore Infantry NFTs are granted instant access to the beta.
This beta phase features a play-to-earn model through the introduction of Marks. Participants in the beta can accumulate Marks by engaging in gameplay and accomplishing various missions. These Marks can subsequently be exchanged for MSG, which is the designated on-chain token within the MetalCore ecosystem.
If you don't manage to access the beta, don't worry! You still have the opportunity to collect Marks by engaging in social quests on DeQuest. A lot of these involve typical activities like following, retweeting, and joining, but there are also quests that require achieving certain milestones within a game.
Furthermore, MetalCore is launching a migration campaign. They are encouraging owners to transfer their MetalCore Infantry NFTs to the Immutable skEVM network. By migrating your Infantry NFTs, they will become usable within the MetalCore game and will qualify for MCG token rewards, which you can claim at the TGE. To qualify for the token bonus, you must transfer your Infantry NFTs by May 14th, 2024, before 3 PM PST.
MCG will serve as a token for staking and converting items into NFTs. Additionally, players can exchange MCG for Shards, which are essential for nearly all in-game advancements, including buying cosmetic enhancements and conveniences like rapid travel and faster equipment repairs.
There isn't an exact launch date set for MCG yet, but the team is aiming to release it shortly following the conclusion of Phase 2.
What is MetalCore?
MetalCore is a blockchain-based video game that blends elements of Planetside and Battlefield. It operates as a first-person or third-person shooter set in a futuristic science fiction universe and offers a range of vehicles, soldier classes, and weapon configurations. The game organizes faction-based skirmishes in instances, allowing for large-scale clashes that can accommodate up to 100 participants on each team. Players can engage in both vehicle and on-foot combat, exploring different tactics and support roles. Effective teamwork and communication within your faction are crucial for success.
In the Faction conflicts, opposing groups strive to capture and hold multiple strategic locations across the map. These locations offer benefits within the game to the faction that controls them. Players are allotted a finite number of respawns for each conflict. When a player exhausts their respawns, they cannot participate further in that specific conflict. However, other players are able to step in and replace them.
MetalCore features areas for both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player interactions. Participants can build and modify their vehicles and gear in designated workshop spaces called Garages, enhancing them with unique skins and stickers. Additionally, MetalCore will accommodate player groups known as Baronies, similar to guilds.
MetalCore is set to offer free-to-play features. Additionally, they are rolling out a Content Creator program that provides incentives for streamers and video producers. The game is presently undergoing beta testing.
Earlier in the year, MetalCore formed a partnership with Immutable X, which will likely lead to upcoming collaborations involving the Immutable Passport and marketplace.
