Splinterlands Celebrates Bitcoin Halving with Special Edition Cards

The Bitcoin halving event is here! To celebrate, Splinterlands has introduced two exclusive promotional cards, which will be available for a short period. These cards feature a unique Halving ability, a rare skill previously found on only two other cards in the entire Splinterlands series!

Yet another Bitcoin halving brings with it another set of promotional cards from Splinterlands. This time around, they've released two cards: Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer. These are exclusive promotional items that are only obtainable during the current event and will not be included in any card packs.

The Baron’s Bounty event kicked off on April 16th and will be open for a duration of 15 days only. Items are available for purchase using Credits or Dark Energy Crystals (with Dark Energy Crystals being the more economical choice at present), priced at 31,250 per BCX for the Baron, and 3,250 per BCX for the Enforcer (equivalent to $32.50 and $3.25 USD respectively). Buyers have the opportunity to slash these prices by up to 50% by leveraging Vouchers. Each individual card bought comes with a 4% likelihood of being a special gold foil version. Moreover, purchasing a bundle of 25 cards guarantees the acquisition of at least one gold foil card.

Moreover, buying promo cards also earns you entries into a raffle to win prizes such as out-of-print card packs, plots of land, and Runi NFTs, with total prizes valued at over $100,000. Furthermore, the top 200 buyers will be awarded exclusive titles, and the top 20 will receive extra copies of the new promo cards.

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game accessible via web browsers and operates on the Hive blockchain, incorporating elements where players can play and earn rewards. The game utilizes two types of blockchain tokens: Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), which serve as the main currency within the game, and Splintershards (SPS), a token used for governance and which can be exchanged for DEC.

Splinterlands blends elements of deck-building games with automatic battle mechanics. Participants assemble their battle array by selecting cards that comply with the specific match guidelines. After both opponents have finalized their selections, the battle proceeds automatically, continuing until one side is left standing. Victorious players accumulate Glint, a currency exclusive to the game, both through match wins and at the conclusion of each bi-weekly season. This currency can be spent on acquiring new cards and various items within the game. Additionally, the top 50 players each season are awarded DEC tokens as a bonus.

Splinterlands incorporates a land ownership feature, where players can cultivate their land to harvest Grain, Research Points, and SPS tokens. Moving forward, the game will evolve to enable players to craft unique items within the game using their land.
